Eulogy for My Old "Friend"

We met when i was only 14 or 15 years old, the two of us didn't seem to hit it off too well at first but, as our encounters with each other became more frequent, because he was a good friend of Billy, who lived next to me in Jax, Fla, he and i became accustomed to each other. As time progressed we were as constant companions as possible and found new friends together.
Our time together back then was great, it was full of adventure and thrills of all types. Throughout high school our relationship strenghten and we became and an inseparable pair, utilizing our relationship to expand each of our social networks, even after our school days together.
As adult life moved forward, we were always in touch, yet the time spent together was not as pleasant as before. Our relationship seemed unimportant anymore, and as i married and began a family of my own, somewhere around the fall of 1977,i met Jesus, and accepted his salvation for me. we disconnected from each other altogether.
Then when troubles came my way,i sought out my old "friend",seeking consolation, acceptance and companionship. He was there for me, noncondemning and non judgemental more than willing to take up where we left off some years earlier.
What a guy, it was like time had only postponed our time together. I mean in no time at all we were back to be a pair just like in high school, well almost like then, now , things were a little different, i mean socially we were not as compatable as before.
Although our relationship was strained we didn't lose touch with each other.
Even after i remarried the two of us and my new wife/soulmate were a close group.
Over the years what comradeship we shared, never interferring with our spiritual lives, well, as it seemed.

Then life beckoned change,as dramatic and tragic as they were,i came to Life Pointe, now it was certain that my "friend" stay in a closet.
So today, Tuesday Febuary 19,2008 I declare that my friend "the Pack" is dead.
I may miss him but not for long since the truth about his friendship has been revealed.
Goodbye "Pack" i really can't say i will regret your demise.
